Sonny Gray pitched a gem, as he only got over a solo home run to Manny Machado in the bottom of the first inning on his way to a six-inning outing, in which he allowed just that one run on four hits and no walks, with six strikeouts. He earned the win to improve to 4-4 on the season.
The Yankees tied it in the third on a Gleyber Torres RBI single and took the lead in the fifth on a Greg Bird RBI triple.
Aaron Judge got his 16th home run of the season in the seventh inning.

Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez made his debut for the Yankees and earned the win.
Hernandez went seven innings, allowing just one run on five hits and two walks, with seven strikeouts.
The Cuban became one of the Yankees' key pitchers during that season, and the three straight World Championships they would win.
Hernandez stayed with the Yankees until 2004, and then he won another World Series with the White Sox in 2005, and pitched the next two seasons for the Mets, where he finished his career.
Where They Stand: The 2018 Yankees (36-17) are four games off the pace of the 1998 Yankees, who were 40-13 through 53 games.
