The St. John's Red Storm didn't have to look far to nab one of their biggest transfer targets, Kadary Richmond, who officially signed on Tuesday after three seasons spent with Seton Hall.

A Brooklyn native, Richmond is a 6-foot-6 combo guard who received numerous accolades, including a 2024 All-Big East First Team selection, a part of the 2024 NABC All-District First Team, and an All-Met First Team. He capped his season by leading Seton Hall to win the 2024 National Invitation Tournament championship.

St. John's Head Coach Rick Pitino said in a statement, "Kadary Richmond is a player I admired so much in the Big East. Awesome talent and we are so excited to have him [Simeon Wilcher], Deivon [Smith], and now Kadary, along with our young talents, is a dream backcourt."

Richmond notched many career bests in the 2023-24 campaign, as he averaged 15.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. He also averaged 5.1 assists, and started in 34 of the 35 games he appeared in.

Richmond put up double-digits in points 31 times, and 12 times he notched 20-plus points. He ranked second in Division 1 with nine games in which he scored at least 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists. His incredible season was capped off when Seton Hall won the 2024 National Invitation Tournament championship.

Richmond is one of seven Seton Hall Pirates to record 1,000 points, 400 rebounds, and 300 assists in his career. In 94 games with The Hall, he averaged 11.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.
