The Mets announced that there will be new transportation options to Citi Field for this upcoming season, as the area around the ballpark is developed into a new sports and entertainment district.

This comprehensive plan expands the options available, and there are incentives designed to make the fans' trip to Citi Field,  while Metropolitan Park is being constructed, as reliable and convenient as possible.

"The fan experience is our top priority," Katie Haas, Executive Vice President of Ballpark Operations at the New York Mets, said in the press release. "As the area around Citi Field undergoes changes, we're excited to offer fans more ways than ever to get to the ballpark. These new options provide greater flexibility today, and we're equally excited about the long-term vision for the area and what it will mean for the fan experience in the years ahead."

A Look at the New and Expanded Travel Options:

Personalized Travel Planning: A dedicated site will allow fans, for the first time, to create custom, location-specific travel plans to Citi Field based on real-time transportation information and Mets-specific options that other sites won't have. Further information can be found in the revamped MLB Ballpark App, as well as your personalized transportation-specific Know-Before-You-Go email.

DRIVE & PARK: Stadium Pre-Paid Parking: The parking experience is being modernized with a new pre-paid parking system that will allow fans to purchase tickets in advance, ensuring a faster and more seamless arrival at the ballpark. Parking will stay at $40 for fans who pre-pay, while drive-up parking, if available, will be $50 upon arrival. Due to the construction, parking will be more limited overall. As a result, parking may not be available if you just drive in, so the Mets recommend pre-paid as the better option to guarantee a parking spot.

Discount Parking: The Mets have partnered again with Metropolis to offer discounted parking at SkyView Mall, Flushing Commons and Flushing Plaza, all locations that are a short walk or a subway ride for one stop from Citi Field.

PUBLIC TRANSIT: LIRR $5 Promo Codes: The Mets have collaborated with the MTA to give fans $5 off their LIRR Adult Day Pass, so look for the offer when you purchase Mets tickets. Kids are only $1 on LIRR this year when they ride with fare-paying adults.

Expanded Ferry Service: The Mets' partnership with Seastreak has been expanded, to offer more games with service to Manhattan, Staten Island, and New Jersey, as well as new weekend game service to Stamford, Connecticut. Please visit the Mets transportation hub to see the specific times and routes.

Shuttles: A new Citi Field Direct Shuttle service will operate from designated malls in Long Island, New Jersey, and The Bronx/Westchester, offering convenient and low-cost coach bus or sprinter vans straight to Citi Field. By utilizing these shuttles, fans can park closer to home on game days, which will ensure an easy ride after the game.

Continued Public Transportation Partnerships: The Mets will work closely with the MTA to ensure robust service on the 7 Train and Long Island Railroad to Mets-Willets Point station on game days, with extra and express trains as often as possible.

EASY DROP-OFF: Rideshare Zone: Returning this year, there will be a designated rideshare pickup and drop-off area just past the Left Field Gate. The area will have enhanced signage and lighting, as well as improved traffic flow, allowing for easier arrivals and departures.

Bike and Scooter Access: The Mets will add more personal bike racks around the ballpark, enhanced Citi Bike service at existing docks, as well as increased e-scooter sharing opportunities.
