In the FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll for Week 1 of the 2025 college football season, Ohio State claimed the top spot with their dominant win over Arch Manning and Texas, 14-7, on Saturday afternoon.
This is the first time Ohio State, the defending National Champion, has been No. 1 in the poll since November 1, 2015. With the loss, Texas dropped from the top spot in the preseason poll to No. 7.
Incredibly, Alabama was left out of the poll for the first time ever after their 31-17 loss at Florida State on Saturday evening.
This breaks a run of 151 consecutive weeks in which the Crimson Tide were in the poll. Ohio State, at 149, is now the longest active appearance streak.
