Islanders Release Promotional Schedule

The New York Islanders had a successful inaugural season in Brooklyn, as they won a playoff series for the first time in 23 years.

The home opener of their second season at Barclays Center is set for Sunday, Oct. 16 against the Anaheim Ducks, followed by six of nine games in October at home. There will be 18 weekend home games throughout the season, with four Friday games, five Saturday games and nine Sunday games at Barclays Center.

Schedule highlights include Islanders vs. Rangers games in Brooklyn on Dec. 6 and Feb. 16. The team will welcome the defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins to Barclays Center on Nov. 18 and Nov. 30. Other featured home games against division rivals include three matchups against the Capitals (Dec. 13, Dec. 27, Jan. 31) and a pair of matchups against the Devils (Feb. 19, March 31) and Flyers (Nov. 3 and Jan. 22).

Additionally, the Islanders will close their regular season at Barclays Center on Sunday, April 9 against the Ottawa Senators.

The promotional schedule for the season has also been released, featuring unique giveaways including a John Tavares STARTING LINEUP™ figurine, a Bill Torrey bowtie, Cal Clutterbuck, Brock Nelson, Sparky the Dragon and Andrew Ladd bobbleheads, and more. Individual tickets to New York Islanders home games at Barclays Center for the 2016-17 season will go on sale to the general public on Friday, Aug. 26 at 10 a.m.

Tickets will be made available to all 41 home games, and can be purchased on ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. Tickets can also be purchased at the American Express Box Office at Barclays Center beginning Saturday, Aug. 27 at noon.
