The Red Bulls earned a big road win, 1-0, over Orlando City SC on Sunday night. A first-half goal from Brian White proved enough to give the Red Bulls three points at Exploria Stadium in Orlando.
This capped off a three-match week for the Red Bulls, as they earned six out of nine possible points.
The Red Bulls beat rival NYCFC at home last Sunday before falling at Toronto on Wednesday night.
The Red Bulls improve to 10-4-8, with 34 points, in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, and just five points behind first-place Philadelphia. They are two points ahead of New York City Football Club, who won in Colorado, 2-1, on Saturday night.
White's game-winning goal came in the 32nd minute. The play started with defender Amro Tarek forcing a turnover and finding Kaku, who curled a ball behind the Orlando defense and into the path of White.
The goal was White's team-leading seventh of the season, and Kaku now has four assists on the season.
Red Bulls captain and goalkeeper Luis Robles made four saves for his fifth shutout of the season, and 68th of his MLS career.
The Red Bulls went with a different look in this one, as centerback Aaron Long was deployed as an outside back, playing on the left side and sharing duties with Amro Tarek with Kemar Lawrence missing due to rest.
Alex Muyl, along with Lawrence, did not travel to Orlando after playing a full 90 minutes last Sunday, and Wednesday night.
The Red Bulls are now 3-5-3 on the road in 2019. Their 37 goals scored this season is the fourth-most in MLS, behind only LAFC, Philadelphia and Minnesota. They also have the sixth-best goal differential in MLS at +6.
The Red Bulls return home this Saturday, June 27, to host Columbus Crew SC. at 7:30 p.m.
