The Mets will host Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Night at Citi Field when they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday, May 14 at 7:10 P.M.
There will be a pre-game party on the Mets Plaza starting at 5:00 P.M., and it will feature local food trucks owned by members of the AAPI community.
Entertainment at the party will include fan-favorite DJ Herb will providing the music. There also will be a special Lion Dance presented by the Ohana Paddling Association (OPA), a non-profit organization that fosters teamwork and community through diverse sports. Ranerjee Inc., a group that promotes Indian performing arts, will perform a Bollywood Dance.
The first pitch will be thrown out by Hee Seo, the principle dancer at American Ballet Theatre. The National Anthem will be performed by professional violinist Alyssa Kim.
During the seventh inning stretch, Composer Soo Yeon Lyuh will perform "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" on the haegeum, a two-stringed Korean bowed instrument.
The DJ for the night, performing both pre-game and in-game sets, will be DJ GETLIVE!
