Severino On Wild Card Start: "It means a lot. It means that they trust me"

On Tuesday morning, Yankees Manager Aaron Boone named Luis Severino the starter for the American League Wild Card Game against the Oakland A's on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.

Severino also started last year's Wild Card game against the Minnesota Twins and was knocked out in the first inning of an eventual Yankees win.

Yankees Manager Aaron Boone will have his first postseason game in the role on Wednesday night when the Yankees host the Oakland A's in the American League Wild Card Game.

On Tuesday afternoon, Boone still had one thing left to announce before the one-game playoff.

"Luis Severino will start tomorrow for us," Boone said, referring to one of the Yankees aces, who went 19-8 with a 3.39 ERA.

The World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum released the names of 15 finalists who will be considered for class enshrinement in 2019. The list of finalists includes men and women representing four different countries, and consists of candidates from the following four categories: Male Competitor, Female Competitor, Lifetime Achievement and Veterans.

Red Bulls' Adams & Long Called Up To USMN

On Monday, Red Bulls Homegrown midfielder Tyler Adams and defender Aaron Long were called into the U.S. Men's National Team roster for a pair of October friendlies against FIFA top-25 opponents Colombia and Peru.

Adams and Long will report to camp in Tampa on October 7 following the Red Bulls' match in San Jose on October 6. The U.S. will face Colombia on October 11 in Tampa before hosting Peru in East Hartford, Connecticut, on October 16.

NYCFC's Ben Sweat Earns First USMNT Call-Up

New York City Football Club defender Ben Sweat has been called up to the U.S. Men’s National Team for the first time.

Sweat received the call for upcoming friendlies vs. Colombia and Peru on October 11 and October 16 respectively.
