Seton Hall Releases Entire 2018-19 Schedule

The Seton Hall Pirates men's basketball team enters the 2018-19 season coming off three consecutive NCAA Tournament bids, 20-win season and double-digit Big East win seasons. The Pirates will be chasing a fourth straight trip to March Madness, a feat the school has accomplished only once prior from 1991-94.

Seton Hall will be led by ninth-year head coach Kevin Willard, and they return two significant upperclassmen in senior Michael Nzei and 2018 Big East Most Improved Player of the Year junior Myles Powell.


They will be surrounded by a wealth of talent in the form of three sit-out transfers gaining eligibility, three rising sophomores ready to step up and three incoming freshmen with tremendous talent. Though Seton Hall graduated one of its most decorated senior classes in school history, the Pirates do boast a roster that has played in 382 career Div. I games, which averages out to 31.8 games per student-athlete.

On Thursday, the Big East Conference finalized its 2018-19 18-game, round-robin schedule and its television package in partnership with FOX Sports.

The Seton Hall men's basketball team will once again have every regular season game televised and will make at least three appearances on the FOX Broadcast Network as well as at least 15 appearances on FS1, the flagship FOX Sports station. The Pirates will play 14 games at Prudential Center, including marquee matchups against Louisville, Kentucky, Rutgers and defending national champion Villanova.

Highlights from the schedule include:

The Pirates have at least three games slated for the FOX Broadcast Network (WNYW in Metropolitan New York), including Dec. 1 vs. Louisville at Prudential Center (12 p.m.), Dec. 8 vs. Kentucky in the Citi Hoops Classic at Madison Square Garden (12 p.m.) and Jan. 27 at Villanova in Wells Fargo Center (2:30 p.m.). The March 9 regular season finale vs. Villanova at Prudential Center (Time TBA) is a FOX Wildcard date that will be decided in February.

The annual regular season game at Walsh Gymnasium will also serve as the season opener for the Pirates, who will host Wagner on Tuesday, Nov. 6 (6:30 p.m.). Seton Hall has won its last 23 regular season games played at Walsh Gymnasium, dating back to 1990.

The Prudential Center opener will take place Saturday, Nov. 17 as The Hall takes on Saint Louis (8 p.m.). The Pirates have won 28 consecutive non-conference home games, including 23 straight at The Rock.

It'll be "Saturday Night at The Hall" often in 2018-19 as the Pirates will host four Saturday night games at Prudential Center this season, including Nov. 17 vs. Saint Louis (8 p.m.), Dec. 29 vs. St. John's (8:30 p.m.), Jan. 19 vs. DePaul (8 p.m.) and Feb. 9 vs. Creighton (8 p.m.). 

The Pirates will also be playing in at least three Saturday night games on the road, including Dec. 22 at Maryland (5:30 p.m.), Feb. 23 at St. John's in Madison Square Garden (8 p.m.) and March 2 at Georgetown (6:30 p.m.).

The annual Garden State Hardwood Classic against Rutgers will once again be an afternoon affair at Prudential Center on Saturday, Dec. 15 (2 p.m.).

Although Seton Hall opens Big East play with four of its first six on the road, the Pirates will conclude the schedule by playing five of their final eight on the road with only one flight after Feb. 2.
For the second consecutive season, Seton Hall will close the season with two consecutive BIG EAST home games, welcoming Marquette on Wednesday, March 6 (6:30 p.m.) and Villanova on Saturday, March 9 (Time TBA) to Prudential Center.

The Big East Championship will be at Madison Square Garden for a 37th consecutive year March 13-16 with the first round, quarterfinals and semifinals on FS1 and the 6:30 p.m., championship game on FOX.

Season tickets for the 14 games at Prudential Center as well as mini-plan options are currently on sale online or through the Seton Hall Athletics ticket office. Individual game tickets will go on sale Monday, Oct. 22. Tickets to the Nov. 6 game at Walsh Gymnasium will be available to the general public starting Monday, Sept. 24 once the season ticket holder presale concludes.
