The Wuhan Cover-Up: And The Terrifying Bioweapons Arms Race

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is an independent candidate for President of the United States. He is the chairman of the board (on leave) and chief litigation counsel (on leave) for Children's Health Defense. He is also the founder of Waterkeeper Alliance, and he was named one of Time magazine's "Heroes for the Planet" for his success leading Riverkeeper's successful fight to restore the Hudson River. He has also had a number of landmark legal victories, including against Monsanto due to the lethality of the weed killer Roundup, and against DuPont, which inspired the 2019 movie "Dark Waters."
Kennedy's new book is The Wuhan Cover-Up: And The Terrifying Bioweapons Arms Race, essentially a sequel to The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health, which was released two years ago and is a New York Times bestseller. There will be a review of that book, as well, at the end of this review.
This is an intense, deeply-researched book, which is no surprise to anyone familiar with Kennedy since he was a leading voice against the response to the pandemic. His voice on this and other topics only grew stronger when he started campaigning for president last spring.
RFK Jr. takes aim at "gain-of-function" research, and the ensuing cover up of how a possible "lab leak" as a result of it could have caused the COVID-19 pandemic. These experiments are often conducted to intentionally develop highly virulent, easily transmissable pathogens for the stated purpose of developing vaccines for animal viruses before they jump to humans. Kennedy contends that the benefits of "gain-of-function" have never been quantified and look to be negligible, while the risks also have never been quantified but look to be monumental, the catastrophic impact of a pandemic makes such research intoleravble, and the risks of zoonotic spillover (between humans and animals) have never been quantified either, and seem low.
"In April of 2020, I was among the early writers to call attention to the history of Dr. Fauci's dark obsessions with gain-of-function (GOF) research at the Wuhan lab," Kennedy writes. "I posed the question: 'Might Dr. Fauci's experiments have helped create the pandemic that President Donald Trump has now appointed him to manage?' I recommended that Congress inquire whether Dr. Fauci, by toying with these sinister alchemies, had opened the Pandora's box that loosed COVID-19 upon the world. Instagram flagged my post as 'vaccine misinformation' and on February 10, 2021, cited it to justify my eviction from the platform. I had, by then, nearly eight hundred thousand followers, whom Instagram sought to shield from such dangerous thoughts."
Kennedy gives the full scope of how Fauci, and the medical bureaucracy at large, amassed so much power. He reveals how the United States government increased biosecurity spending after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, which set in motion a plan to put the agency Dr. Anthony Fauci directed, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) into essentially a Defense Department agency.
One of the main things Kennedy focuses on is the "dark alliance" between America's military and intelligence agencies, in particular the CIA, and the public health bureaucracies. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, the biosecurity agenda was "the new spear tip of American foreign policy." The fear of the Soviets was replaced by a fear of infectious disease, which was has been used to justify vast expanses of government power.
Kennedy describes it as a three-legged stool comprised of the, intelligence agencies, the military, and the medical and scientific bureaucracies, which includes Big Pharma. This places the US bioweapons program right where the dark ambitions of the military-industrial merge with the medical-industrial complex, made up of the federal scientific technocracy, the pharmaceutical industry, and academic researchers who rely on them for funding.
The fear of this goes all the way back to Presidents Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower, who served from 1945 to 1960, and they warned against what they viewed as an anti-democratic development.
"On my seventh birthday, January 17, 1961 - three days before my uncle, John F. Kennedy, took his oath of office as United States President - his predecessor, President Dwight Eisenhower, appeared on national television to deliver his farewell address, which history increasingly regards as one of the most important and prophetic speeches in American history," RFK Jr. writes.
"President Eisenhower took special care to include an expanded definition of his term 'military-industrial complex' that would include the top bureaucrats at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Eisenhower warned that the federal government's rising medical and scientific technocract posed its own unique threats toward our democracy and freedom."
During the Cold War, Bayer made billions in the "war against bugs" and transformed its chemical weapons stock into agricultural pesticides, detergents, and antiviral medicines. George Merck oversaw the government's secret laboratory at Fort Detrick in Maryland. Charles Pfizer and Co. of New York conducted a top-secret study for the Army of growth and culture media for unspecified biological agents. Yes, those three pharmaceutical companies - Bayer, Merck, and Pfizer - are still with us today.
"One of the costs of engaging in a bioweapons arms race is the moral damage to the entire society as medicine and its practitioners turn away from health and against humanity," RFK Jr. writes. "As I show in The Real Anthony Fauci and as many Americans learned during the COVID pandemic, once doctors stop practicing medicine and become agents of state policy, it's inevitable that the government will quickly make them instruments of social control."
Fort Detrick looms large when it comes to gain-of-function research, as while it's BSL-4 lab was the global paragon for laboratory safety, there have routinely been lab leaks. In 1951, a forty-six-year-old microbiologist, William Boyles, died from anthrax poisoning that eluded any press coverage at the time. Then, on July 5, 1958, Joel Willard, a Fort Detrick electrician, suffered an anthrax-related "occupational death," which an official termed a "respiratory disease." In contrast to that, Willard's death certificate stated it was "myocardial failure due to antecedent visceral anthrax," and military officials buried his body in a lead casket.
Among many other cases Kennedy cites of Fort Detrick's tragic history was the death of Albert Nickel, the camp's animal caretaker, due to Bolivian hemorrhagic fever in 1964. His death certificate cited his cause of death as "encephalitis, viral; etiology undetermined.' Fort Detrick officials did not report a lab-induced meningitis case to the County Health Commission for three weeks after the onset of symptoms.
Then, 55 years later, in July 2019, the CDC suspended activities at Fort Detrick due to safety serious violations related to how it dispersed dangerous material. The official reason from the Army was "biosafety lapses" and the "failure of Fort Detrick's steam sterilization plant." Then, incredibly, less than a year later, on March 27, 2020, just after the COVID-19 pandemic began, the CDC cleared Fort Detrick's USAMRIID's Level 3 and 4 laboratories to resume full operations.
Along with Dr. Fauci, the other name that looms large in all of this is Bill Gates, who wielded tremendous power with his organizations, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and Gavi (formerly the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation, as well as his eponymous Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Gates' main goal was to push his mRNA vaccines as the treatment for pandemics. In 1999, the Gates Foundation pledged $750 million to set up Gavi as a vehicle for diverting Western countries' foreign aid budgets to promote vaccine uptake in developing nations. Gates created CEPI at the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, Switzerland, in 2017 to facilitate global cooperation in promoting and developing vaccines, including rather suspiciously, ones for emerging infectious diseases such as "Disease X." Kennedy writes, 'CEPI promised that its innovative mRNA vaccine platform would allow it to 'rapidly manufacture vaccines against many different types of disease.' No one seemed to think it reckless to spend millions in grievously needed public health dollars against a malady that did not yet exist." By the time of CEPI's launch, Gates and.or his foundation made massive investments in most of the world's leading vaccine makers, Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, CureVac, and the state-run Serum Institute of India, as well as funding the University of Oxford, where the AstraZeneca vaccine was developed.
Along with this, Gates provided one-fifth of the budget of the World Health Organization (WHO) in a bid to systematically control it and turn it into the focal point of a Pandemic Preparedness and Response agenda. It also would be a champion of draconian controls like lockdowns, social distancing, social credit scores, intrusive surveillance, digital currency, and vaccine passports. These initiatives also magnify the profits and power of the pharmaceutical companies who provide the lion's share of the WHO's funding that does not come from governments.
"Like a pair of Cassandras, Bill Gates and Anthony Fauci spent a decade prophesying a worldwide coronavirus pandemic with what, in retrospect, seems eerie precision," Kennedy writes. "Preaching their doomsday jeremiads on the favored rostrums of the global elite - the World Economic Forum's roundtable in Davos, the United Nations' podium in New York, the World Health Organization's (WHO) platform in Geneva, Silicon Valley stages, and from network television studios - these savvy sages waged their frantic crusade to rouse the complacent public, press, and politicians to the imminent threat of calamity by contagion. In March 2015, poised on a dais beneath a goliath screen depicting the now-familiar pincushion coronavirus orb, Gates warned his TED Talk audience that the defining catastrophe of our time would be - 'not missiles, but microbes,'
"Two years later, on January 10, 2017, ten days before Donald Trump took the oath of office, and just twenty-four months before COVID-19 found its US beachhead in Seattle, Dr. Fauci, speaking at a pandemic preparedness forum at Georgetown University, predicted the precise timing of the coronavirus pandemic. '[T]here is no question that there will be a challenge to the coming [Trump] administration in the arena of infectious diseases.' Dr. Fauci added, 'There will be a surprise outbreak...The thing we're extraordinarily confident about is that we are going to see this in the next few years.' He was right; it would be almost exactly three years later."
While all this was going on, Dr. Fauci was all in on financing reckless gain-of-function research that was being conducted in laboratories which engineered superbugs that were likely to escape. Dr. Fauci was seeking to develop coronavirus pathogens that were capable of causing a global pandemic, and used this as a justification to develop preemptive vaccines for animal viruses before they jump to humans. He was paying irresponsible United States and Chinese scientists to breed, house, and transport these pathogenic ubergerms in Wuhan's poorly managed facilities, which were also shoddily constructed, making their escape a near certainty.
Dr. Fauci was laundered federal grants through a sketchy and duplicitous British-born zoologist named Peter Daszak, whose organization, EcoHealth Alliance, was funding this shady research. Daszak was not just funneling American taxpayer dollars, but US proprietary bioweapons technology and intellectual property to Chinese scientists. Daszak's partners in this include North Carolina professor Ralph Baric, one of Dr. Fauci's most favored grantees who is thought to have questionable ethics, and Chinese shrimp scientist Shi Zhengli and her team of researchers, most associated with the Chinese military.
A lot of the omens of what was to come started in January 2019, a year ahead of the pandemic. The WHO, by then a "vassal," as RFK Jr. termed it, of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, declared "vaccine hesitancy" to be one of the top-ten threats to public health, along with AIDS, air pollution, and climate change, and ahead of cancer, dysentery, and malaria. There was no scientific citation to back up this declaration. At the same time, politicians financed by Big Pharma launched a global campaign to make all vaccines mandatory and to abolish religious, philosophical, and medical exemptions to vaccines. Within weeks of the WHO's announcement, the United States House of Representatives and legislators in all fifty states, and parliaments around the world submitted hundreds of bills not only abolishing vaccine exemptions, but compelling them for children. The NIH, CDC, and pharmaceutical industry began funding propaganda and psychological warfare campaigns for promoting vaccines and overcoming vaccine hesitancy.
Gates announced his retirement from Microsoft, the company he founded, on March 13, 2020, just as the pandemic was exploding in the United States. He took all the relationships he cultivated in the medical world to create a $100 billion vaccine empire that has also given him lucrative profits.
"Throughout 2020," Kennedy writes, "Gates was raking in billions, cashing in on a pandemic he personally abetted by depriving the public of early treatments, by lying about vaccine safety and efficacy, and by promoting lockdowns that multiplied deaths that his medical cartel was then attributing to COVID-19. Gates's stake in Microsoft alone had increased by $7.5 billion by August, due to the lockdowns, and he would make billions more from his vaccine investments, because of his canny investment in virtually all the COVID vaccines marketed."
The Gates Foundation made an investment in 1,038,074 shares of Pfizer's mRNA partner BioNTech at the pre-IPO price of just $18 per share in September 2019, when it is assumed that only the Chinese knew COVID was circulating. What was initially a $55 million investment was worth $1.3 billion by August 2021. The BMGF invested ~$20 million in Moderna in 2016, plus another $1 million in March of 2019, and as of May 17, 2023, Moderna's stock was trading at over $125 per share.
In November of 2021, in a statement that should make people's blood boil, Gates admitted that the vaccines he spent years promoting did not prevent COVID from spreading.
Despite what is now known about the origins of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases, President Biden signed an executive order in September 2022 that will unleash new waves of gain-of-function research. He also committed $88 billion to "pandemic prevention," which really means more bioweapons research and more reckless gain-of-function experiments.
The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health

Dr. Anthony Fauci was the face of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, a regular presence on television with media figures who would endlessly praise his recommendations to cope with this unprecedented virus.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spent over a year doing painstaking and meticulous research to tell a story that obliterates what the media would tell you about "America's Doctor."
Dr. Fauci has been in various posts with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1968, and he became its Director in November 1984. His salary is $417,608, which is the highest of all four million federal employees, including the President.
One of the Dr. Fauci's main roles as Director of NIAID is to dole out $6.1 billion in annual taxpayer-provided funding for rigged scientific research, which allows him to determine the subject, content, and outcome of scientific health research across the globe.
This dark agenda is backed by the financial clout Dr. Fauci has at his disposal to wield extraordinary influence over hospitals, universities, journals, and thousands of influential doctors and scientists. These are people whose careers he has the power to ruin, advance, or reward in a ruthless manner.
The NIAID's specific task is to investigate and prevent allergic, autoimmune, and chronic illnesses, but those now inflict 54 percent of children, up from 12.8 percent when Dr. Fauci took over in 1984. He has offered no explanation for why allergic diseases, including asthma, eczema, food allergies, allergic rhinitis, and anaphylaxis, had exponential increases starting in 1989. Life expectancy has also declined, and children have lost seven IQ points since 2000.
Dr. Fauci, who retired this past June, presided over catastrophic declines in public health, including an exploding chronic disease epidemic, in the 39 years he ran the NIAID. The "Fauci Generation," those born after '84, is the sickest generation in American history, a result of his subservience to Big Ag, Big Food, and pharmaceutical companies that has left children drowning in pesticide residues, corn syrup and processed foods. Children now also have to take 69 recommended vaccine doses by the time they're 18 years old, and not one of them has been properly safety tested.
Kennedy writes, "My 40-year career as an environmental and public health advocate gave me a unique understanding of the corrupting mechanisms of 'regulatory culture,' the process by which the regulator becomes beholden to the industry it's meant to regulate. I spent four decades suing the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other environmental agencies to expose and remedy the corrupt sweetheart relationship that so often put regulators in bed with the polluting industries they regulated. Among the hundreds of lawsuits I filed, perhaps a quarter were against regulatory officials making illegal concessions to Big Oil, King Coal, and the chemical and agricultural polluters that had captured their loyalties. I thought I knew everything about regulatory capture and that I had armored myself with an appropriate shield of cynicism.
"But I was wrong about that. From the moment of my reluctant entrance into the vaccine debate in 2005, I was astonished to realize that the pervasive web of deep financial entanglements between Pharma and the government health agencies had put regulatory capture on steroids. The CDC, for example, owns 57 vaccine patents and spends $4.9 of its $12.0 billion-dollar annual budget (as of 2019) buying and distributing vaccines. NIH owns hundreds of vaccine patents and often profits from the sale of products it supposedly regulates. High level officials, including Dr. Fauci, receive yearly emoluments of up to $150,000 in royalty payments on products they help develop through the approval process."
Dr. Fauci launched his career during the height of the AIDS crisis by partnering with pharmaceutical companies to sabotage safe and effective off-patent therapeitic treatments for AIDS. He orchestrated studies that proved to be fraudulent, and then pressured US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulators into approving a deadly chemotherapy treatment he had good reason to know wouldn't work against AIDS. He then repeatedly violated federal laws to allow his Pharma partners to use impoverished and dark-skinned children as lab rats in deadly experiments with toxic AIDS and cancer chemotherapies.
In early 2000, Fauci cemented his partnership with Bill Gates that would aim to control an increasingly profitable $60 billion global vaccine enterprise with unlimited growth potential. With their funding leverage and cultivation of personal relationships with heads of state and leading media and social media institutions, the Pharma-Fauci-Gates alliance exercised dominion over global health policy, and by extension, the United States.
As Dr. Fauci did with AIDS treatments, he worked with Gates to devise a scheme to deny access to highly effective early medications like hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin. They were direct threats to their vaccine enterprise due to a federal law that banned emergency use authorizations (EUAs) for vaccines against diseases for which a licensed medication, approved for any purpose, has been deemed effective. Gates and his team controlled the safety and efficacy debate, while also manipulating science to suppress safe and effective treatments. One of those fraudulent studies was done by Solidarity, which provided extremely high, possibly lethal doses of hydrochloroquine to elderly patients in an attempt to "prove" it was dangerous.
This extends to the Gates Foundation's control over renowned medical journals, including The Lancet, which also was serving its Pharma benefactors by discrediting effective early treatments that would not only threaten vaccines but Gates and Fauci's risky and ineffective therapy, remdesivir.
On May 22, 2020, The Lancet published a study that had been fabricated of hydrochloroquine (HCQ) and chloroquine, claiming that COVID patients given the drugs were dying at higher rates and suffering more heart-related problems than others suffering from the virus who went untreated. The WHO cited this study as justification to end its clinical trials of HCQ, and three European nations banned it as a COVID-19 treatment.
"Dr. Fauci's strategy for managing the COVID-19 pandemic was to suppress viral spread by mandatory masking, social distancing, quarantining the healthy (also known as lockdowns), while instructing COVID patients to return home and do nothing - receive no treatment whatsoever - until difficulties breathing sent them back to the hospital to submit to intravenous remdisivir and ventilation," Kennedy writes. "This approach to ending an infectious disease contagion had no public health precedent and anemic scientific support. Predictably, it was grossly ineffective; America racked up the world's highest body counts.
"Medicines were available against COVID - inexpensive, safe medicines - that would have prevented hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations and saved as many lives if only we'd used them in this country. But Dr. Fauci and his Pharma collaborators deliberately suppressed those treatments in service to their single-minded objective - making America await salvation from their novel, multi-billion dollar vaccines."
