Mets Taste of Queens & Coca-Cola Food Truck Winners

The Mets and Coca-Cola announced on Monday the four local, small businesses that were chosen to be a part of the Citi Field’s line up of menu items this season. Citi Field was awarded recently with the USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice award for Best Baseball Stadium Food. 

Arepalicious and Thai Tai Eatery will be featured at the Mets community-focused stand Taste of Queens, which you can find on the field level in Taste of the City.

Fieldtrip and Dorado Tacos & Quesadillas will take up residence at the Coca-Cola Food Truck located in Coke Corner.

Dorado was also featured at New In 25.

James Benesh, Vice President of Ballpark Experience with the Mets, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Arepalicious, Dorado Tacos & Quesadillas, Fieldtrip, and Thai Tai Eatery to Citi Field’s award-winning culinary lineup this season. Highlighting local small businesses through the Taste of Queens and Coca-Cola Food Truck programs has been an important initiative for the organization and a great way to connect to our local communities. These four incredible businesses have such unique stories and cuisines that will allow us to continue to provide Mets fans with the best ballpark food in Major League Baseball.”

Starting in 2022, for the past three seasons, the New York Mets and Coca-Cola have given a showcase to local vendors and restaurants through both the Taste of Queens and the Coca-Cola Food Truck experience. This year, they partnered with Celebrity Chef Adam Richman to provide local restaurants with the opportunity to be featured at Citi Field this season.

 

“I’ve been lucky enough to be part of the incredible food program with the Mets at Citi Field, for two years now, but I think it’s incredibly special that the opportunity I have been given isn’t just for TV personalities or celebrity chefs,” said Adam Richman. “I’m excited to meet these incredible food industry professionals, to learn their story, to exchange ideas, inspiration, recipes, and to be there to help them in any way I can, using what I have learned during my years in the hospitality industry.”

Each featured small business will essentially be given three months, as shown below.

 

Opening Day Friday, April 4 to Thursday June 26:

AREPALICIOUS will be the first Taste of Queens restaurant featured at Citi Field. Arepalicious first started at home as a hobby, before taking their cooking to the streets at food markets in Queens. Their owners were able to secure a building where Arepalicious Restaurant and Bakery has been open since 2018. Arepalicious’ menu at Citi Field will include:

• Cheese Arepas – Topped with shredded chicken, shredded beef or guacamole, cotija cheese and house sauce 

 

FIELDTRIP is the first Coca-Cola Food Truck restaurant featured at Citi Field. At Fieldtrip, their food is influenced by global flavors and techniques used within various cultures. Their rice bowls are paired with ethically sourced vegetables and proteins creating a flavorful experience that tastes good and is good for you. Fieldtrip’s menu at Citi Field will include:

• Jerk Meatball Bowl – Ground turkey, 50 cut mushrooms, jollof rice, plantains, cucumber coconut yogurt
• Braised Beef Bowl – Texas brown rice, chipotle black beans, plantains, scallions, fresno peppers 

 

Tuesday, July 1 to Sunday, September 21:

 

THAI TAI EATERY will be the second Taste of Queens restaurant featured at Citi Field. Fans can experience the vibrant and bold flavors of Thailand at Thai Tai Eatery. Their menu is inspired by local Thai kitchens and features a variety of favorites with carefully selected ingredients for each dish to ensure maximum flavor. The menu for Thai Tai Eatery at Citi Field will include: 

• Classic Bahn Mi – Slices of traditional Vietnamese ham, roasted Vietnamese sausage served on a baguette with spicy mayo, fresh cucumber, pickled carrots, daikon and cilantro

 

DORADO TACOS & QUESADILLAS is the second Coca-Cola Food Truck restaurant featured at Citi Field and features an innovate approach to Mexican street food, Dorado’s Tacos & Quesadillas menu at Citi Field will include:

• Shrimp Quesadilla – Flour tortilla with a three-cheese blend & choice of salsa or sour cream
• Carne Asada Quesadilla – Flour tortilla with a three-cheese blend & choice of salsa or sour cream
• Carne Asada Tacos – Grilled steak, guacamole, pico de gallo
• Shrimp Tacos – Grilled shrimp, cabbage, crema, pico de gallo, pickled onions
