English Premier League leaders Manchester City will travel to the United States this summer in the International Champions Cup to play a series of matches during the Club’s 2018 pre-season tour.

New York City has been confirmed to host one of the matches, with further destinations and opposition teams to be announced in the coming weeks.

Manchester City and the Yankees jointly own New York City Football Club, who play at Yankee Stadium.
The last time Manchester City played in New York City was in July 2014 against Liverpool.
Manchester City is doing very well across all four competitions this season. They have a commanding lead in the Premier League by 15 points, on pace for their first title since 2014.
They are in the  fifth round of the FA Cup and will compete in the final of the Carabao Cup Final later this month.
ManCity has also qualified for the knock-out stages of the UEFA Champions League. They will play FC Basel in the round of 16 on February 13.
To announce the upcoming pre-season tour, City defender Benjamin Mendy visited New York City to surprise local fans and deliver the exciting news in person.
Speaking at a fan event of the top of Rockefeller Center, Mendy said: “It’s been amazing to come to New York City to announce the tour and give some local fans a real surprise! The soccer fans in the United States are so passionate about the game and it’s always a pleasure to visit here.
“When I go back to Manchester and tell the players about my trip I know they will be really excited to come here in the summer. We can’t wait to play in front of our US fans again.”
Last summer, Manchester City visited Houston, Los Angeles and Nashville.
