The 2020 New York Yankees schedule was released on Monday, and here are the highlights:
Opening Day is the earliest it ever has been, Thursday, March 26, and the Yankees will open at the Baltimore Orioles.
The home opener will be a week later, on Thursday, April 2, against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Subway Series with the Mets will have the same format as this year's did, as there will be two games at Yankee Stadium on July 7 and 8, and two at Citi Field on July 28 and 29.
One of the most special events of the 2019 season, which was announced last week, will be on August 13 when the Yankees will take on the Chicago White Sox in Iowa at the site of the movie "Field of Dreams."
The Yankees games against the Boston Red Sox will be as follows. They host the Red Sox for three three-game sets May 8-10, July 24-26, and September 8-10. They play 10 games at Fenway Park, starting with a three-game set June 12-14, a four-game set from July 30-August 2, and three games August 31-September 2.
The Tampa Bay Rays will come to Yankee Stadium for three three-game series June 5-7, August 17-19, and September 25-27. The Yankees head to Tampa Bay for a three-game set March 30-April 1, four-gamer from May 11-14, and three games from September 14-16.
The Houston Astros host the Yankees May 15-17 and they come to Yankee Stadium September 21-24.
If you were paying attention, you would have noticed that the final week of the season features a seven-game homestand with the four against Houston and three against Tampa Bay.
The Yankees face the National League Central teams in Interleague Play. The Cincinnati Reds come to Yankee Stadium April 17-19 and the Chicago Cubs visit from June 26-28.
The Yankees will visit the St. Louis Cardinals from July 17-19 and the Milwaukee Brewers from May 19-21.
The Pirates and Yankees will play four games against each other, with two in New York May 5 and 6, and a pair in Pittsburgh on June 16 and 17.
