The Mets announced on Saturday afternoon that they have acquired catcher Michael Perez from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for cash.

This comes one day after they acquired slugger Daniel Vogelbach from the Pirates.

Perez, a left-handed hitter, is hitting .150 with a .209 on-base percentage, and a .318 slugging percentage, with six home runs and 11 RBI in 39 games this season.

He started his career in Tampa Bay, where he played from 2018 to 2020, and then joined the Pirates in 2021. In 193 career games, he has 15 home runs, 21 doubles, and 58 RBI.
