Amazin' Mets Foundation Legacy Award Presented To Sarah Langs

On Wednesday morning, in a pregame ceremony at Citi Field, the third annual Amazin' Mets Foundation Legacy Award was presented to Sarah Langs, a researcher at ESPN who is an ALS advocate as she battles the debilitating disease.

Foundation President and Mets Owner Alex Cohen presented the honor, which seeks the celebrate the people and organizations in the baseball world that make a difference on and off the field.



"Sarah Langs is not only a brilliant baseball mind, with her vast knowledge of the game as a statistical analyst, but she is a powerful voice and a relentless advocate," the announcement from the Mets stated. "In her fight with ALS, Sarah has raised awareness and inspired countless others throughout the baseball community.

"Sarah has reminded us that baseball is more than stats and scores, it's about resilience, community, and lifting each other up.Simply put, in her iconic motto, baseball is the best. Sarah embodies everything the AMF Legacy Award stands for - courage, passion, and a commitment to making baseball better for everyone."

Since its inception in 2021, the Amazin' Mets Foundation has funded over $17 million in grants to over 200 organizations in the community, including those surrounding Mets affiliate teams.

The inaugural Legacy Award went to Maybelle Blair, a champion of women's baseball, in 2023, and last year's recipient was the Warriors Amputee Baseball Team.
