College Football: FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll - Week 8

 



In the FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll for Week 8 of the 2024 college football season, Oregon claimed the top spot, while last week's No. 1,Texas, dropped five slots after losing to Georgia.

Oregon was No. 2 last week, an the only school besides Texas to receive first-place votes. Oregon shutout Purdue 35-0 on Friday night to claim their first appearance in the top spot in the poll since September 29, 2014.

This ends an incredible run for SEC team at the top of the poll, as they had school ranked No. 1 in the poll in 59 of the past 60 weeks, dating back to September 29, 2019.

Georgia moved up three slots, to No. 2, with their 30-15 win over Texas, who dipped to No. 6, on Saturday night. 

Penn State, who had a bye week, moved up one slot to No. 3, flipping spots with Ohio State, who also had a bye and slipped to No. 4.

Miami-FL moved up one spot to No. 5 with their 52-45 win at Louisville, and after Texas is Tennessee, who moved up two spots to claim No. 7 with their 24-17 win over Alabama. That loss sent the Crimson Tide tumbling eight spots, from No. 7 to 15.
