The Ragamuffin Parade rolled down Third Avenue in Bay Ridge for the 50th time this past Saturday.
The parade began in 1967 as a celebration of children in the community.
The first Ragamuffin Parade was actually in October of 1966 when Father James McKenna of Our Lady of Angels and several parishioners involved in the church's youth activities decided to hold a youth event for the children in the parish.
The following year it started on Third Avenue and the parade features thousands of kids in costumes, really inaugurating Halloween.
