Mets Home Opener Postponed Until Friday

The Mets' home Opening Day, which was originally scheduled for Thursday, will now be this Friday, April 7 at 1:10 p.m.

The Citi Field gates will open at 10:40 a.m., and parking lots will open at 9:40 a.m. 

Fans holding paid tickets for the game originally scheduled for Thursday, April 6, may use them for the rescheduled game on Friday.

Festivities on Opening Day will begin with the annual Shea Floral Presentation, which will begin approximately 30 minutes before first pitch. This is a tradition that dates back to the first Opening Day at Shea Stadium in 1964. Bill Shea was instrumental in bringing National League baseball back to New Yorkm and members of the Shea family will be on hand to present Mets Manager Buck Showalter with a good luck floral arrangement.

New Jersey vocalist Anna Negron will perform the National Anthem and the New York Fire Department ceremonial unit will present the colors. In the middle of the seventh inning, New York Police Department police officer Makiah Brown will sing "God Bless America."

The Mets will honor former broadcaster Bob Murphy with an honored mark in the left field rafters recognizing his 42 years broadcasting the Mets. Murphy is a Mets Hall of Famer who called the team's games from its inaugural season in 1962 until his retirement in 2003. Murphy's children Brian, Kasey and Kelly will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to Mets alumni Mookie Wilson, Tim Teufel and Turk Wendell.

More Ticket Information: Season Ticket Members can exchange their Opening Day tickets for a 2023 regular season tickets for a 2023 regular season game at Citi Field up until 10:00 a.m. on April 7. Following the conclusion of Friday's game, a digital voucher will be loaded onto each attending patron's My Mets Tickets account, which can be accessed by clicking the Vouchers tab, for any unused tickets. The digital voucher will be accessible beginning on Saturday, April 8 at 10:00 a.m., and they can exchange the voucher for a ticket comparable in price and location to another Mets 2023 regular season game at Citi Field, excluding Subway Series games on June 13 and 14, subject to availability.

Complimentary tickets to Thursday, April 6 and those marked "No Rian Check" have no value and do not constitute a rain check. However, they can be utilized to attend Friday's rescheduled game.  Prepaid parking will be valid for admission on Friday.
