College Football: FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll Week 7

In the FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll for Week 7 of the 2023 College Football season, the top four schools are Georgia, Michigan, Florida State, and Ohio State, with the only change from the prior week being FSU and OSU flipping spots.

Georgia picked up 29 of the 56 first-place votes to remain No. 1 for the 17th consecutive week, going back to October 9, 2022, after they beat Vanderbilt, 37-20, on the road. The Bulldogs will be idle this coming weekend.

Michigan remained in the No. 2 spot after they powered by Indiana, 52-7, while Florida State stunned Syracuse, 41-3, and Ohio State romped past Purdue, 41-7. Washington moves up one spot to No. 5 after they held off Oregon, 36-33. In turn, Oregon, who suffered their first loss of the season, dropped one spot to No. 9.

The poll has a new entrant this week, Notre Dame, as the Fighting Irish come in at No. 14 after their impressive home victory over USC,48-20.

Even though it was the first loss of the season for USC (6-1), who was No. 10 last week, the Trojans dropped out of the poll after the crushing defeat. Duke, by virtue of their 24-3 win over NC State, and Utah, who crushed Cal, 34-14, both re-entered the poll, at No. 15 and 16, respectively.
