On Wednesday afternoon at Citi Field, the Mets worked out on the field ahead of Opening Day, when they will take on the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday at 1:40 p.m., delayed a day because of predicted rain tomorrow afternoon.

The Mets start this season with some fresh faces, starting with new Manager Carlos Mendoza and President of Baseball Operations David Stearns.

There's also new center fielder Harrison Bader, who has grown his beard back in after his time across town with the Yankees, and coming soon, their new designated hitter, J.D. Martinez, most recently a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

A pleasant sight for the Mets on Wednesday must have been seeing right fielder Starling Marte looking like his old self in the batting cage and chasing down fly balls in right field after a 2023 season largely lost due to injury.
