Independent Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s campaign announced on Friday that it has made an unprecedented partnership with the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) that sets out to revolutionize how individuals can financially support the campaign with the Kennedy Victory Fund 2024.
The establishment of the Joint Fundraising Committee means individuals can now donate $41,300 to Kennedy, in addition to the general election contribution of $3,300.
“This historic collaboration breaks the fundraising stranglehold that the two major parties have on this election,” Independent Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in a statement. “Together, the Kennedy campaign and LNC are democratizing fundraising to make this independent run viable.”
The Joint Fundraising Committee offers a pathway for the Kennedy campaign to raising similar funds to the two establishment parties. It not only creates a new threshold per individual contributor, but this agreement allows state party committees that meet specific FEC requirements to join the Joint Fundraising Committee. Each state that joins adds an additional $10,000 in donation capacity per individual.
The campaign declares in the announcement, "This new nonpartisan partnership enables state parties from various non-establishment groups — including Libertarian state affiliates, the Reform Party in Florida, and other independent parties — to unite and support the Kennedy campaign’s historic challenge to the two-party system."
