College Football: FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll - Week 2

In the FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll for Week 2 of the 2024 college football season, Georgia once again claimed the top spot after they beat Tennessee Tech, 48-3 at home.

Georgia took 44 out of 54 first-place votes, and this is now the Bulldogs' 37th appearance at No. 1, second most behind Alabama's 61 appearances in the top spot.

An SEC team has been ranked No. 1 in the poll in 58 of the past 59 weeks, dating back to September 29, 2019.

Texas claimed the second spot, and received eight first-place votes after they dismantled defending champion Michigan, 31-12. This No. 2 ranking is the highest for Texas in the Super 16 Poll. As a result of the loss, Michigan fell seven spots to No. 16, their lowest raking since they were last left out of the poll nearly three years ago, on September 21, 2021.

Notre Dame, which was ranked fifth in the initial poll of the season, fell out of it completely after they lost to Northern Illinois 16-14 at home. It is only the second time a team has fallen out of the poll after being ranked in the top five the previous week. The other instance was in 2016 after No. LSU lost to unranked Wisconsin at Lambeau Field.
