On Thursday night, fans attending the Yankees' game against the Boston Red Sox can take a free pregame prostate cancer screening, hosted by the Yankees, Fans for the Cure, and Montefiore Einstein.

Right after the Yankee Stadium gates open at 5:30 p.m. until the early innings of the game, the PSA blood tests will take place in private booths on the 200-level Concourse in between the New Era Team Store and Section 223.

All screening are free and "walk-up," meaning reservations are not required. However, only fans with tickets to the game are eligible to participate.

Fans for the Cure is participating in its 13th prostate cancer screening in collaboration with the Yankees. Longtime baseball commentator Ed Randall is the Founder and Chief Advocacy Officer of Fans for the Cure, and he said, "With early detection and the advancement in treatment options, most men diagnosed with prostate cancer go on to live long and productive lives. Since there are rarely symptoms, a PSA test at age 47 is a big reason why I am here today." Please check out www.fansforthecure.com for more information.

The screening will be led by Dr. Mark P. Schoenberg, Chair-Department of Urology, and his Urology team at Montefiore Einstein, the official hospital of the Yankees. This annual event is offered to guests prior to one home game each season, and takes place in September to make National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. It is open to all Yankees employees, Yankee Stadium Legends Hospitality staff members, Yankee Stadium Securitas officers, and NYPD prior to the gates opening to guests.
