Revolution Run Past Red Bulls

The Red Bulls lost to the New England Revolution, 2-1, on Saturday night.

This ends the Red Bulls' five-game unbeaten streak, and their record drops to 7-1-4, with 22 points. They are now in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, seven points behind Atlanta United FC for first place with two games in hand.

Bradley Wright-Phillips got his ninth goal of the MLS season to put the Red Bulls on the board just eight minutes into the game.
Wright-Phillips headed in a cross from Sean Davis, and was able to direct the ball past New England's Matt Turner despite being more than 10 yards from goal for his 12th goal across all competitions.
Per Opta, Wright-Phillips has five headed goals on the year. In 2017, no MLS player had more than five headed goals. He improved his career goal total to 95 leagues goals and 112 across all competitions.
Davis earned his fourth assist on Wright-Phillips' goal, tying his previous career-high for assists in a season, set last year.
New England tied it in first-half stoppage time when Diego Fagundez got his fourth have of the season on a feed from Krisztian Nemeth and Teal Bunbury in the 46th minute.
Bunbury grabbed the game-winner in the 78th minute on a feed from Christian Penilla. It was Bunbury's eighth goal of the season.
The Red Bulls were without several regulars, including goalkeeper Luis Robles for the third straight match and World Cup-bound Michael Amir Murillo and Fidel Escobar, as well as Tyler Adams and Tim Parker, who featured for the USMNT on Saturday in Dublin.
