Monday night: Washington 5, Yankees 3 (Game 1)

This was the completion of their suspended game from May 15, which was 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Nationals won it on a two-run home run from Juan Soto off Yankees reliever Chad Green in the bottom of the sixth that made it 5-3.
Soto, who was not on the Nationals when the game began five weeks ago, hit two homers at Yankee Stadium last Wednesday to help the Nats split the two-game series in New York.
The play of the game was in the seventh inning when Didi Gregorius hit what looked to be a double up the gap, only to be caught by Soto, who fired it in to Trea Turner, who beat Gary Sanchez back to the bag to double him off and end the frame.

June 21, 1998: Cleveland 11, Yankees 0

The Indians got to Yankees starter Hideki Irabu early in this one, starting when Manny Ramirez and Mark Whiten hit back-to-back-homers to open the bottom of the second inning.
Manny followed that up with a three-run shot in the third to make it 5-0 Indians, and Irabu was lifted after that inning.
Darren Holmes came out of the bullpen for the Yankees, and Travis Fryman led off the bottom of the fourth with a homer, and Jim Thome had an RBI single later in the frame to make it 7-0.
In the fifth, Sandy Alomar hit an RBI triple and came in on a Fryman sacrifice fly to make it 9-0.
Bartolo Colon got the win for the Indians, as he threw eight shutout innings, allowing just three hits and five walks, with 10 strikeouts. his record at that point was 7-4 with a 2.53 ERA.
Colon was in just his second major league season in 1998, and he finished the season with a record of 14-9 with a 3.71 ERA. He currently is 45 years old and pitching for the Texas Rangers.
