New Rochelle To Hold Parade For Rivera On July 27

The City of New Rochelle will be celebrating one of their former residents, the Yankees legendary closer Mariano Rivera and his unanimous selection into the Baseball Hall of Fame, on Saturday, July 27 with a pinstripe parade culminating with a celebration at the  Hudson Park Bandshell.


Rivera is the greatest closer of all-time with 652 career saves, which included 42 in the postseason. He won five World Championships with the Yankees and was a 13-time All-Star and the 1999 World Series MVP.

The one-and-a-half mile parade begins at 10 a.m. at City Hall on 515 North Avenue (southbound) continuing to Pelham Road and concludes at Hudson Park.

If you live in New York City and want to head up to the historic event, rhe parade route is in close proximity to the New Rochelle Metro North Train Station, and City Hall is less than a ten minute walk from the station.

Rivera will receiving the Key to the City and a Proclamation declaring July 27th as "Mariano Rivera Day" before the parade begins.

Following the parade, there will be a celebration with DJMG, Mike Guiliano, food, and special surprise giveaways courtesy of the New York Yankees at the Hudson Park Bandshell.
