Mets Minor League Update, Including Brooklyn Cyclones

Let's take a look at how the Mets' Minor League affiliates, including our hometown Brooklyn Cyclones, are performing with around a month left in their seasons.



SYRACUSE METS (Triple-A): 57-56, tied for third place, 7.0 games back in International League North division. They are 6-4 in their last 10 and were off on Monday, August 5.

BINGHAMTON RUMBLE PONIES (Double-A): 57-54 overall, 22-25 in the second half, third place, 6.5 games back in Eastern League Eastern division. The are 4-6 in their last 10 and were off on Monday, August 5.

ST. LUCIE METS (Single-A): 62-50 overall, 30-16 in second half; 2nd place, 2.0 games back in Florida State League South division. They are 6-4 in their last ten, and beat Fort Myers 4-2 on Monday. Catcher Dan Rizzle went 3-4 with an RBI double in the sixth inning. It was his second game with at least three hits this year (he had four hits on July 30 against Palm Beach).

COLUMBIA FIREFLIES (Single-A): 43-67 overall, 19-25 in second half, 5th place, 7.0 games back, South Atlantic League Southern division. They are 4-6 in last ten games, winners of three straight. On Monday, they beat Hagerstown, 3-1. Infielder Jose Miguel Medina went 1-4 with a home run, a solo shot in the second inning. Right-handed pitcher Alex Kisena got the win as he pitched six innings of one-run relief for his fourth win of the year. It was his longest outing of the season, and he allowed just three hits, with a season-high six strikeouts.

BROOKLYN CYCLONES (Short-Season A): 27-22, 3rd place, 1.5 games back in New York-Penn League's McNamara division. They have lost six of their last 10, but had a comeback victory over Hudson Valley, 3-2, on Monday. Infielder Jose Peroza went 1-for-3 with two RBI and knocked in the game-tying and winning runs with a single in the seventh inning. It was his eighth multi-RBI game of the season. Designated hitter Luke Ritter went 3-3 with a home run, a solo shot in the second inning; an RBI, and 2 runs scored. Right-handed pitcher Matt Cleveland went six innings, allowing an earned run on four hits and three walks, with five strikeouts. This was his second quality start of the season, but got a no-decision.
