On Thursday, the Red Bulls placed midfielder Florian Valot on the Season Ending Injury list.

Valot had surgery in April to repair a torn ACL after he suffered the injury during the Red Bulls match against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, March 16.

The Red Bulls also announced that they loaned Homegrown midfielder Derrick Etienne Jr. to FC Cincinnati for the remainder of the 2019 season in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. The pick is Chicago's natural third-round selection, previously acquired by Cincinnatt, who also has an option to buy at the end of the loan.

"Derrick has continued to progress each season and represents our club well," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Denis Hamlett. "We wish him the best for the rest of the season in Cincinnati."

Etienne, a native of Paterson, N.J., signed with the Red Bulls ahead of the 2016 season after one year at the University of Virginia.

Etienne is a graduate of the Red Bulls Academy and represents Haiti on the international stage. Etienne has appeared in 60 league games for the Red Bulls over four seasons, making 22 starts, with six goals and four assists.

Transaction: New York Red Bulls loan Derrick Etienne Jr. to FC Cincinnati for the remainder of the MLS season in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.
