On Thursday, the Yankees acquired OF Tyler Hill from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for cash considerations.
Hill, 22, hit .254/.348/.312 (108-for-426) with 67R, 20 doubles, 1 triple, 1HR, 38RBI and 54BB in 124 games with Single-A Salem this season, with his 27SB leading the Red Sox organization. Over five seasons, the Wilmington, Del., native has combined to bat .275/.355/.369 (349-for-1,271) with 196R, 58 doubles, 10 triples, 14HR, 149RBI and 93SB in 351 minor-league games. The right-handed batter was originally drafted by the Red Sox in the 19th round of 2014 First-Year Player Draft. He was selected by Detroit in the Triple-A Phase of the Rule 5 Draft on Thursday.
