For the second straight week, the top four teams in the FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll were Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, and Michigan.
Georgia earned 47 out of 52 first-place votes after they beat SEC rival South Carolina, 48-7. It is Georgia's 10th appearance in the top spot, which ties Ohio State for most appearances at No. 1. An SEC team has been ranked No. 1 in this poll each week dating back to September 29, 2019, a span that is now 30 weeks.
Tennessee took its highest spot, No. 11, since it was No. 9 on October 9, 2016, after they beat Akron, 63-6.
NC State is ranked No. 13, which is that school's highest position ever in the history of the poll, after their 27-14 win over Texas Tech.
Penn State (No. 12), Ole Miss (15), and Washington (16) are in the poll for the first time this season. For Washington, who beat Michigan State, 39-28, it's their first appearance since September 29, 2019. Penn State beat Auburn, 41-12, while Ole Miss beat Georgia Tech, 42-0.
Michigan State, BYU, and Miami (FL) fell out of the poll after they each suffered defeats. Michigan State lost to Washington, 39-28, while BYU lost to Oregon, 41-20, and Miami lost to Texas A&M, 17-9.
