Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge led off the game with solo home runs, followed by a two-run double from Brandon Drury to cap a four-run first inning against Toronto starter J.A. Happ.
Toronto got two back in the second, but the Yankees responded in the top of the third as Gardner had a two-run triple and then scored himself on a passed ball to make it 7-2.
Luis Severino improved to an impressive 14-2 on the season, as he allowed three runs on five hits and two walk, with five strikeouts, in five innings.

July 13, 1998: Cleveland 4, Yankees 1
This loss broke a ten-game winning streak for the 1998 Yankees.
The Yankees got on the board first, as Darryl Strawberry hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth, but Cleveland came right back against Yankees starter Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez.
In the bottom of the fourth, Jim Thome hit a solo homer, followed y a Sandy Alomar RBI single to make it 2-1 Indians.
In the bottom of the sixth, Thome tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly from Manny Ramirez to make it 3-1.
In the seventh, with El Duque still in for the Yankees, Kenny Lofton hit a solo shot to make it 4-1 and seal the win for Cleveland.
Jaret Wright earned the win for Cleveland, as he went seven innings, allowing one run on eight hits and two walks, with four strikeouts, to improve to 9-5 on the season.
El Duque took the loss for the Yankees, falling to 3-2 in 1998, as he allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks, with five strikeouts.
Where they stand: With the win Saturday night, the 2018 Yankees (57-29) gained a game on the 1998 Yankees, who were 65-21 through 86 games.
