The Mets will host the second annual Military Transition Summit at Citi Field this Saturday, May 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Veterans, active service members, spouses, and organizations are invited to attend.
The Summit will start with an opening address from Mets President Sandy Alderson and from James Hendon, the Commissioner of the NYC Department of Veterans' Services.
This worthwhile event is meant to help military members, veterans, and spouses prepare for the civilian workforce, and will feature multiple professional development opportunities.
There will be: Workshops on education, interview preparation, and resume building; An entrepreneurship panel featuring members from the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families; Career and education networking with organizations, including the presenting sponsor Hain Celestial, as well as Manhattan College and the Bob Woodruff Foundation; and Professional Headshots will be offered.
The Mets will also provide participants with a lunch, a free tour of Citi Field, two (2) tickets to an upcoming game, and a Mets branded notebook.
Plan accordingly: Admission is free and parking will be provided in Lot B & D. The Mets have reached the maximum capacity for this year's event and are no longer accepting new registrations at this time.
