Week 9 In College Football: FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll

For the third straight week, the Georgia Bulldogs remain atop of the FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll for Week 9. They rolled past Florida 34-7, and once again received all 52 first-place votes.

Georgia improved to 8-0, and they clinched the SEC East Division title, which gives them a spot in the SEC Championship game in early December in Atlanta, which would mean a possible showdown with Alabama.

Speaking of Alabama, the Crimson Tide (7-1) remained second in the poll after they had a bye week this weekend. This coincided with head coach Nick Saban's 70th birthday on Sunday, as he noted to the New York Times when asked about his age earlier in the season, "way younger" than Nancy Pelosi.

Cincinnati, 8-0 after a 31-12 win over Tulane, remained in third, while Oklahoma held on to the fourth spot and improved to 9-0 with a 52-21 win over Texas Tech.

The top four (Georgia-Alabama-Cincinnati-Oklahoma) is the same as the prior week, but there is a new fifth-best team in the country: Michigan State, who improved to 8-0 after their dramatic 37-33 win over in-state rival Michigan, who dropped to 7-1 and fell to 10th in the poll.
